Roselee Connie Barela, born on November 16, 1947, to Raymundo and Ramona Lucero in Anton Chico, New Mexico, embraced life with a spirit of love and faith that inspired all who knew her. She peacefully passed away on June 26, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Roselee was a remarkable woman who found joy in the simple things in life. Her family meant everything to her, and she spent every moment of it with her sons, grandchildren and loved ones.
Known for her unwavering faith, Roselee found strength in prayer. She believed that God spoke directly to her, reassuring her in times of fear and uncertainty. This profound faith carried her through her battle with cancer, as she faced treatment with courage and grace.
In her leisure time, Roselee enjoyed dining out and bragging about her grandchildren. Family gatherings were treasured occasions for her, where she could shower her loved ones with affection and create lasting memories.
One of Roselee's proudest accomplishments was finding adventure in retirement. She embraced new experiences with an open heart and a fearless spirit, embodying the idea that life is meant to be lived to the fullest.
Roselee will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her two sons Michael Barela (Juanita Martinez) and Christopher Barela (Ongelina Barela). She also leaves behind siblings Virginia Vigil, Beatrice Velasquez, Junior Lucero, Patsy Sanchez, Alfred Lucero, Lillian Aragon, and Joe Lucero; along with her adoring grandchildren Noah Barela, Jonah Barela, Faith Barela, Israel Barela, Love Barela, Christian Barela, Hope Barela, and Cross Barela.
Roselee's memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life. May she rest in peace knowing that she was cherished and loved beyond measure.
