Rosemarie "Rosie" Scheerer

Rosemarie "Rosie" Scheerer, 85, of Saugerties, NY passed away peacefully January 20, 2026 at the Ten Broeck Center in Lake Katrine. She was born November 2, 1940 in Kassel Germany. In 1962, she traveled to America to fulfill her dream of one day owning her own business. That dream came true in 1986 when she opened and ran the Main Street Deli. With her 3 children by her side, she made some of the best soups in town! She was a dedicated grandmother who loved babysitting, taking walks, baking Christmas cookies and coloring Easter eggs. She never forgot a birthday.

She was preceded in death by her parents and many siblings. Rosie is survived by her children: Oliver (Ellen) Scheerer, Monika (Bill) Stade, Kurt (Kasia) Scheerer and by her grandchildren Brandon, Travis, Brooke Stade and Eric and Timothy Scheerer. She also leaves behind her beloved cat Bella. We ask that in lieu of flowers you consider making a donation to the Saugerties Animal Shelter. Visitation will be held at Buono Funeral Service, 100 Main St, Saugerties, NY 12477 on Wednesday January 28, from 4-6pm, followed by a brief service.
