ROSEMARY E. MARSOLAIS
LATHAM – Rosemary Emmerling Marsolais, 103, beloved wife of the late Francis X. Marsolais, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, at the Eddy Heritage House in Troy.
Those who knew Rosemary will fondly remember her deep love of family, unwavering faith, and spirited enthusiasm for college football-especially her beloved Notre Dame-as well as golf and tennis. She cherished playing bridge with dear friends and often joked about being "the world's worst golfer," a title she wore proudly and joyfully.
Well-read, well-traveled, and well-loved, Rosemary lived a life full of curiosity, laughter, and grace. During World War II, she served her country with distinction as a cryptologist for the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C., decoding Italian and Spanish communications.
A gifted musician, Rosemary was the organist at St. Ambrose Church for 25 years and a talented professional concert pianist whose music brought joy to many.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Ann Beatty; and her sisters, Leona (John) Ramsey and Dorotha (Arthur) McGovern.
Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Mary (Daniel) McManamon; her son-in-law, Dr. Richard Beatty; her brother, Harold (Margaret) Emmerling; and her grandson, Daniel F. McMahon (Samantha), for whom she held a very special place in her heart.
In keeping with Rosemary's wishes, services will be private.
Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the care of The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Latham.
