Funeral services for Rosemary Meuth, 86 of Giddings, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 25, 2024 at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Giddings with Father Miguel Duarte officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Pin Oak, Texas. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, March 25, 2024 from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. A Rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Rosemary Beck Meuth was born on December 30, 1937 at her family's home at Pin Oak, Texas, the second daughter of Louis Alfred Beck and Hattie Margaret (Friebe) Beck. She was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pin Oak. She also made her First Communion at age five and was confirmed there as well. Then on August 25, 1954, at the age of 17, Rosemary married Leonard Meuth at St. Mary's in Pin Oak. The couple lived in Pin Oak until 1974 when they moved to Giddings. During this time, they had five children, Bobby, Michael, Catherine, Lynnette, and Mark. In 1967, they opened Meuth Implement in Giddings which they operated for 25 years. Rosemary worked beside her husband as a secretary of the company.
She and Leonard were active members of St. Margaret Catholic Church in Giddings where she served as secretary of the Altar Society, was on the Parish Council, and served as lector and eucharistic minister. Her other interests over her lifetime included embroidering, baking, gardening, helping others and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rosemary passed away during the early morning hours of Friday, March 22, 2024 in an Austin hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis & Hattie Beck; her husband, Leonard Meuth; her son, Michael Meuth; her sister, Annie Meuth, and her brother, Louis Beck.
Rosemary is survived by her four children, Bobby Meuth & his wife, Linda of Serbin, Catherine Knobloch & her husband, Clyde of Lincoln, Lynnette Davis & her husband, John of Pflugerville and Mark Meuth of Bastrop; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, Clinton & Katie Meuth of Pin Oak and their children, Anton, Norah, Levi, & Everett, Joshua & Mary Pearl Meuth of Giddings and their children, Braden, William Cole and Mary Ella, Stefanie & Justin Emmons of Giddings, Valarie & Eugene Miller of Giddings and their children, Casen, Gage & Jillian, Jordan & Sarah Davis and their son, Kevin of Converse, Michael Knobloch of New Braunfels and his children, Madison, Hannah and Michael Jr., Angela & Chris Williamson of Houston and their son, Tyler, Brian Knobloch & Dan Mages of
Elmwood Park, New Jersey and Scott Knobloch of Carlsbad; one sister, Yvonne Nink of Clear Lake; one sister-in-law, Mildred Darsey of Pin Oak, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Knobloch, Clinton Meuth, Brian Knobloch, Joshua Meuth, Jordan Davis, and Johnny Tomas Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be David Tomas and Matt Tomas.
Memorials may be made to St. Margaret Catholic Church in Giddings or to the
charity of one's choice.
