Rosemary Major of Salem, Missouri passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the Hickory Manor Nursing Center in Licking, Missouri at the age of 80. In her final days, she was surrounded by her family. She was greatly loved by all who knew her. Her example of honesty, work ethic, sense of humor and Christ like love will continue to guide her family. Rosemary was born on October 22, 1942, in Jennings, Missouri to the late Ed and Evelyn (Dussold) Jezik. She was a most gentle and honest woman who loved the remarkable achievement of life and all its surrounding, but most importantly she was a strong, dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She inspired us with her dedication to family and her strong work and religious ethics; her honesty and her willingness to speak the truth in love and kindness; and her optimistic approach to life. Her wonderful sense of humor and love of laughter have always been the hallmark of family gatherings. She was generous of spirit, willingly sharing the fruits of her labor with family, friends, and charitable causes. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Mr. Jack Major on July 5, 1967, this union was blessed with son, Donald.
Rosemary spen most of her working career was as a cook in the public-school system at R-4. She was a great homemaker and mother who was very proficient at cooking and baking. She was active with-in the Sacred Heart Church which she had attended for several years. Rosemary loved her friends and family and had a great time going to Red Hat luncheons, church functions or just hanging out at the house playing cards. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Rosemary Major is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Nancy Major; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed and Kathy Jezik, of Wentzville, MO, and Jerry and Shelly Jezik, of Webster Groves, MO; brother-in-law, James Major and wife Jimmalee, of Salem, MO; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
