Rosemary Petersen, 84 of Belford, New Jersey passed away at Jersey Shore Medical Center on July 25th 2025 with her family at her side. She was born on March 9th 1941 in Brooklyn, New York and had resided in Belford, New Jersey for the past 37 years. She graduated from Fort Hamilton High School in 1960. She worked as an underwriter's assistant at Hartford Insurance for 46 years, and reveled in retirement for 18 years. She was always delighted to be with her family.
She is survived by her younger sisters, Margaret Petersen of Belford and Eileen DiPietro of Atlantic Highlands; nephews - Christopher DiReda, John DiPietro, Guy DiPietro, Dominick DiReda, Jeffrey DiPietro, and John Petersen; nieces - Laura Krueger, Christine Leach, Michele Ryder, Jennifer Heaton, and Stephanie Petersen. She is also survived by many great nephews, great nieces, and her great-great nephew and great-great niece that she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her father John C. Petersen, mother Ann B. Petersen, older sister Charlotte DiReda, and younger brother John Petersen.
Visitation will be held at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A memorial service will then be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday July 29th 2025, at Saint Mary Mother of God Church in Middletown, New Jersey.
