Mary Smith

Mary L. Smith (Lee), 89 of Belford, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025.

Born in Elizabeth, Lee was raised in Roselle, NJ. Together, with her late husband, Richard, and making Belford their home, Lee spent that past 67 years raising their family.

Lee is survived by her loving daughters, Bonnie (John) Mullen of Belford and Wendy Wilson of Nevada; and her daughter-in-law, Sheila Smith of Moriarty, New Mexico. She was a proud grandmother, and nanny, to Kimberly (Justin Cowing) Wilson, Amanda, Eckhoff, Kristen Eckhoff, and Angela (Joseph) Wilson. Her joy extended to her great grandsons, Jacob and Isaac Cowing. There are many others who were part of her growing legacy, including her sister, Diane Lodzinski, and sister-in-law, Claire Gaffney, as well as many nieces and nephews that will carry on her memory with love.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Smith; son, Glenn Smith; parents, Margaret and Paul Leskowich; in-laws, Stanley and Margaret Smith; brothers, Thomas Gaffney; brother- and sister-in-law, Richard and Beverly Nelson; and son-in-law, Richard Wilson.

Lee always found joy in life's simple blessing surrounded by family and friends.

A graveside service will be offered Monday, October 6, 2025 at 10:00 am at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.

Arrangements are under the direction of John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
