Rosemary Scherrer, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully at her home in Mansfield, Ohio, on April 19, 2025, after a short illness. Born on July 6, 1936, in Grayson, Kentucky, to John Easterling and Millie Flint Easterling, Rosemary lived a life filled with love, warmth, and devotion to her family.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter Scherrer, and her son, Edward Prater. She leaves behind a cherished legacy in her surviving children: Wetzel (Genevieve) Prater, Ray (Melanie) Prater, Jane (Bob) Mcalpine, Nancy (John) Cushard, and Jackie (Brad) Lemke. Her surviving siblings, John Easterling, Bob Easterling, Joe Easterling, and Steve Easterling, also mourn her passing, along with her many nieces and nephews who held her dear. Her many grandchildren-Cynthia Palange, Brianna Tower, Samantha Thompson, Emily Prater, Benjamin Prater, Alexander Prater, Logan Prater, Gabriel Prater, Stacey Bennett, Magan Mcalpine, Candice Cushard, Johnny Cushard, Tracey Lemke, and Elisha Eaton-Lemke-and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Grandma Raspberry," will deeply miss her nurturing presence and playful spirit.
A dedicated cook, Rosemary spent much of her career bringing comfort to others through her work in various nursing homes in Mansfield, Ohio, and in Florida. Her passion for cooking extended to her family, where she was renowned for her delicious chicken pot pie, a dish that warmed both hearts and homes. Above all, Rosemary treasured time spent with her family, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.
Rosemary's kindness, generosity, and love for those around her will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 12 pm - 2pm at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services at 1106 Park Ave East Mansfield OH.
Forever loved, forever missed, Rosemary Scherrer's legacy will endure through the love she shared and the lives she touched.
