Rosemary Ann Vinkemulder, 91, of Berthoud, passed away on November 18, 2024 at Pathways Hospice in Fort Collins. She was born in Eureka, Illinois on August 22, 1933 to Alfred and Leah Kathryn (Fischer) Bowald where she grew up.
She graduated from Eureka High School in 1951 and went on to earn her Masters in Home Economics from the University of Illinois.
After graduation, she taught high school in Illinois and California and during summers, volunteered for Intervarsity Christian Fellowship at Cedar Campus in Michigan where she met her husband, Don. They were married June 24,1962 and settled in Battle Creek, MI where they lived until moving to Colorado in 2011.
Rosemary loved arts and crafts, volunteered with her church, dedicated time to Boys and Girl Scouts, the Charitable Union and to her children's schools. She helped many children through her tutoring, even into her retirement. She had a heart for serving others and was a faithful blood donor. While in Battle Creek, Michigan, they were members of Christ United Methodist Church.
Thankful to have shared her life are her children; Beth (Robert) Hurley, Bruce (Ana) Vinkemulder and Brian (Mia) Vinkemulder, seven grandchildren; Ryan Hurley, Jose, Benjamin, and Mateus Vinkemulder, Finley and Hannah Vinkemulder, her siblings; Irma Walder, Naomi Vogel and Ben Bowald as well as nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald on February 8, 2016. Her daughter, Beth passed away on November 26, 2024, just eight days after Rosemary.
Cremation has taken place and Rosemary's urn will be placed at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver with her husband. Memorial gifts may be made to "YWAM" (Youth With a Mission) to assist her grandson.
