Barry N. Vinkemulder, born on January 29, 1931, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away on January 26, 2025, in Avon, Indiana. He lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication, leaving behind an indelible mark on those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Barry embarked on his career after graduating from Michigan State University in 1952. He served as a logistics manager for Associated Truck Lines from 1952 to 1972, honing his skills in management in the transportation industry. Following this, he transitioned to Hilliard Lyons, where he worked for six years as a stock broker until 1978. Barry concluded his professional journey with Overnite Transportation, dedicating 15 years to the company and retiring with the title of National Account Sales Representative in 1993.

Not only was Barry known for his professional achievements, but he also possessed a wonderful sense of humor that endeared him to many. He was a proud left-handed individual and a cherished member of North United Methodist Church. His passion extended beyond work; he was a talented baritone and sang with the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, as well as later participating in the choir at Robin Run Senior Living. A devoted fan of the Indy 500, Barry's enthusiasm for life was evident in all he did.

Barry is survived by his wife of nine years, Joan Prosser and her family; daughters, Linda J. Cuticchia (Michael) of Indianapolis and Gail L. Kincaid (Randy) of Fishers; and son Jeffrey A. Vinkemulder (Mary) of Aloha, Oregon. He is also lovingly remembered by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who brought joy to his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Geraldine Vinkemulder; wife of 62 years, Mary Vinkemulder; his daughter, Nancy G. Vinkemulder; and his brother, Wayne L. Vinkemulder.

Visitation will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church on March 29, 2025 from 10 - 11 AM. A memorial service will follow. Friends are welcome to stay for a light reception following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Indianapolis Symphonic Choir.

As friends and family gather to celebrate Barry's life, they will remember not only his accomplishments but also the warmth he brought to their lives through his humor. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
