Phillip George Georgen, loving husband of Lisamarie (Rabiola) Georgen, passed to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, November 9th due to complications from a sudden illness. He is survived by his devoted wife Lisamarie, his children Jessica (Georgen) Moffitt and her husband Robert, Arianna Rabiola and her fiancée Michelle, Jayden Georgen and Rylan Georgen. He is also survived by his older brother Paul Georgen. He is preceded in passing by his mother Wilma Isabelle (Roehn) Georgen, his father Lambert George Georgen, and his older sister Paulette Gail (Georgen) Jordan.
Phil was born in Chicago, an early Christmas present to the family of Lambert and Wilma Georgen on December 21st, 1962. He was the youngest of 3 siblings. His father drove a milk truck and his mother was a rate clerk for a trucking company.
The family lived in a 3-bedroom flat, above a butcher shop on North Milwaukee Ave. Shortly before his 1st birthday, the family moved to a new home in Des Plaines. With the brief exception of a few years in his late 20's, Phil lived in the Des Plaines home continuously for the next 50 years. He inherited his work ethic from his father and mother, always working multiple jobs throughout his life. He also inherited his love of all things Christmas from his mom. "Holy Lolly" (from one of his favorite Christmas specials, 'Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer') was his continual exclamation during the season for the first 5 or 6 years of his life.
In his late teens and twenties, Phil developed a passion for cars. He could identify the year and make of any car with just a glance, and he kept a running tally of the vehicles he owned. Over 47 years of driving, Phil proudly owned 54 different cars.
In 2000, Phil welcomed his daughter Jessica into the world. She was the sole focus of his life, raising her alone as a single parent. Together Jessica and Phil would embark on many adventures, from camping, biking, traveling to the local Forest Preserve with their dogs and playing catch in the yard. They also spent a lot of time going to the library and enjoying time together. Even while working multiple jobs at a time, Phil made sure he was there for every event Jessica was in, even taking her to every daddy-daughter dance until she out grew them.
In 2014, Phil met the love of his life, Lisamarie, working as colleagues at ThermoFisher Scientific in Mount Prospect, Illinois. Shortly thereafter, they eloped in Walt Disney World with a small intimate ceremony with their children. The family bid adieu to Illinois and relocated to
Zionsville, Indiana. Lisa and Phil spent the next 10 years laughing through life and creating priceless memories.
Phil was known for his witty charm, infectious laugh, and mischievous smile. He had a gift for reading any situation and always knew how to lighten the mood with a perfectly timed joke-even if it was a little inappropriate. His humor and warmth brought joy to everyone around him. He was a man of true value, who many can say impacted their lives positively.
