Marilee Husselman, age 98, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 2. She was born on December 22, 1926, in Portersville, Indiana, the daughter of Earl and Ruby Geisler.
After graduating from Alfordsville High School, Marilee moved to Indianapolis, where she began her career in the offices of TWA. It was there she met Thomas E. Husselman, and the two married in January 1959. They shared 59 wonderful years together. In 1968, Marilee and Tom settled in Zionsville, where they made their home for most of their lives.
Marilee had a lifelong love of Indiana art and spent many years volunteering with the Hoosier Art Salon, eventually serving on its board. She took great pride in helping organize the Salon's annual exhibition.
An avid gardener, Marilee earned her certification as a Master Gardener and could often be found outside in her yard in Zionville enjoying her flowers and plants. Having started her career in the airline industry, she also carried a love of travel throughout her life, exploring both the U.S. and abroad with Tom, her sisters, and the rest of her family. Summers in Boyne City, Michigan, were among her favorite times.
Marilee is survived by her children, Cassie Husselman Bluestein (Rick) and Brian Husselman (Julie); her grandchildren, Sophie Husselman Plappert (Ryan), Grant Husselman, Joel Bluestein, and Brooke Bluestein; and her great-granddaughters, Molly and Rosie Plappert.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Earl Geisler; her husband, Tom; and her siblings, Wanda, Betty, and Dennis.
Services will be held at 11am on Monday, November 10, 2025 at Advent Lutheran Church, 11250 N. Michigan Rd., Zionsville, IN 46077. Visitation will be from 10am – 11am prior to the service. Burial will be at Zionsville Cemetery immediately afterward.
Following the service, the family invites friends and loved ones to gather for food and fellowship at the home of Brian and Julie Husselman, 10313 Cottonwood Ct., Zionsville, IN 46077.
