Rosetta June Hickman, age 82, of Marion, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, at Marion General Hospital surrounded by her family and loved ones.
She was born in Marion, where she lived all her life. She married Norman L. Burch in June of 1959, and they had 5 daughters together. During that time, she worked at Marion Manor Nursing Home for 11 years.
She married Sidney D. Hickman in 1988, and they lived very happily until his death in 2022. They loved dancing together, especially to Rocky Top. Boy, did they cut a rug! They loved going fishing together.
She was a great cook and loved to bake. She loved her time spent baking with her daughters and grandkids. She loved to bake cakes and decorate them. She made many birthday and wedding cakes. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas…It meant lots of cooking, baking, and time with family. She also loved sewing; over the years she made lots of clothes for her daughters. She was a lifelong fan of Elvis. She always said, “If God made anything better looking that Elvis, I’d like to know what it is!”
She got to take a road trip with her daughter Tina in 2023 to Graceland, Nashville, Tupelo, MS, and Gatlinburg, they had the best time!
The last 3 years of her life she has resided with her daughter Tracey. To her 5 daughters she was the greatest mother in the world. She always bragged that she was very proud of all 5. She loved her family so dearly that she wanted to live to the age of 90.
She is survived by her 5 daughters, Tonya Colgrove (Kathy Bigler), Tracey Grimwood, Teresa Burch, Tina Mills, and Trista Fulton, all of Marion. She has 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Her brother Allen Williams of Marion, and many nieces and nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband Sidney D. Hickman, her parents Alva Woodrow and Eva Delores (Eckard) Williams, a sister Lora Kay (Edward) Blevins, and a great grandson Austin Stanley.
Pastor Steve Phillips will be officiating her service on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Edwards Funeral Service Hughes Allen Chapel at 1:00 pm.
