Rosetta Kelso, born on October 25 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on December 15, 2025, in Rolla, Missouri. A loving mother and grandmother, Rosetta was known for her kindness and caring nature. She had a remarkable ability to uplift the lives of those around her, always willing to extend a helping hand or a warm embrace.
Rosetta grew up in a family that valued togetherness and support. She was the cherished daughter of Charles and Nadine Kennedy, who have preceded her in death. She is also survived by her beloved siblings, Jesse Kennedy and Robert Kennedy, who share fond memories of their life together.
Her legacy includes her devoted children: John (Tina) Kelso, Robert Kelso, and Virginia (Michael) Mattocks, who carry forward her spirit of love and compassion. Rosetta's grandchildren, Jason (Courtney Paige) Napier Jr., Amber Napier, Zachariah Mattocks, Dakota Kelso, Nathaniel Mattocks, and Tavi Mattocks, were the light of her life. She found immense joy in her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother to Emmie Mattocks, Honey Napier, and Damien, with whom she shared many cherished moments.
Rosetta was a woman of diverse interests. She found delight in the whimsical worlds of Scooby-Doo and The Wizard of Oz, and she spent many hours crocheting, creating handmade treasures for her family and friends. These hobbies were a reflection of her playful spirit and her desire to bring joy to others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kelso Sr., and her sister, Aggie, both of whom she missed dearly. Throughout her life, Rosetta formed deep connections with her family and friends, and she will be remembered for her unwavering commitment to loving those around her.
Visitation services for Rosetta will take place on December 22, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 925 E Hanna Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held that same day from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Rosetta will be laid to rest at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, IN, on December 23, 2025, with a burial service beginning at 11:00 AM.
