Rosie Lee Pye Booker was born January 20, 1936, in Hampshire, Tennessee to the union of Lurlan Pye and Betsy Pauline Kinzer Pye. This sweet and productive life came to an end on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Rosie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Pleasant Union Church of Christ. She relocated to Nashville and united with Schrader Lane Church of Christ.
Rosie Lee graduated from Carver-Smith High School. She later married the love of her life Hazel Booker, Jr. and to this union 3 children were born.
Rosie was employed by Werthan Bag for many years, she went on to work with WSMV and also did private home sitting.
When she wasn’t working Rosie enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time entertaining family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Hazel Booker, Jr., daughter, Kanta Booker, grandson, Duke Booker, Jr., siblings, Alonzo, John A, and Horace Pye, Lettie B. Harris, Ruby Booker and Hannah Bullock, 9 brothers-in-law and 4 sisters-in-law.
Those left to celebrate her memories are her son, Duke (Treva) Booker, Sr., daughter, Angel Jordan, grandchildren, Anjelica (Timothy) James,, Brandon (Chantaeus) Perry, Cortney (Talia) Booker, Javier Booker, Angelique Jordan, Jasmyne Booker, great-grandchildren, J’Miah, Deon, Ava, Nadia, Naomi, Jaxson, devoted, sister, Eunice Frierson, godson, Thomas Newman, sisterin-law, Jeanette Winston, Mamie Garner, Verna Cross and Alleane Pye and a host of nieces and nephews cousins other relatives and friends, devoted employer Cindy Wilds.
