Mrs. Rosie Lee Davis, age 76 transitioned into eternal rest Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Atrium Health Wake Baptist Hospital, Winston Salem, NC.

OUR BELOVED ROSIE…

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful."

2nd Timothy 4:7 NLT

Our precious and beloved fragrance, ROSIE LEE SHAW DAVIS, was born on February 24, 1950, in the Cameron Township of Moore County, North Carolina, as the fourth child of the nine children of the legacy of the late Howard and Victorine Elliott Shaw. She matriculated through the Moore County School System, attending the former Pickney School, Carthage NC, and graduated from Union Pines High School, Cameron, NC, in 1968.

ROSIE's fragrance captured the heart of her "Wayne" and they began a lifelong journey together making their home in Harnett County, NC. She united with him in marriage on March 10, 1973. Soon after, she united with him by becoming a faithful disciple of Love Grove AME Zion Church, Sanford NC. Her journey of faith and friendship were expressed as she served God as a member of the Lay Council, a Church School scholar, and was one of the original members of the Heavenly Voices Choir.

Beyond her many commitments to her family and her church, ROSIE was a dedicated employee at Coty, Inc., Sanford NC, and happily retired after 21 years of service to the company. She had a passion and love for cooking; shopping for clothes, purses, and jewelry; traveling; good preaching; and attending gospel singing programs. If the car was moving, she was moving with it, too.

ROSIE's fragrance became a vapor on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 6:16 p.m. at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC. We praise our Heavenly Father for blessings our lives with her presence, her smile, and her wisdom. Now, she has received the answers to her prayer and her soul's greatest desires – the healing of her body and the joy of seeing "my Jesus."

ROSIE is preceded in death by parents: Howard and Victorine Shaw; her siblings: Margaret Shaw Russ, Russell Shaw, Wilma Shaw McNeill, and Mary Jo Shaw Hickman; her mother-in-law: Annie Davis Watson; her sister-in-law: Annette Watson; and her brother-in-law: Louis Watson.

ROSIE's legacy will live on in the hearts of her husband of almost 53 years: Walter Wayne Davis; her daughter: Shauna Davis of Euless TX; her granddaughter, whom she raised: Nyasia Davis of the home; her spiritual daughter: Tashika S. Smith (Michael) of Fayetteville NC; her siblings: Sherman Shaw of Sanford NC, Ruth Shaw Wright of Aberdeen NC, Francis B. Shaw of Cary NC, and Lucille S. Sims (Stewart) of Corona CA; her sisters-in-law: Shelia Davis of Greensboro NC and Susan Watson of Fayetteville NC; her brothers-in-law: Rodney Davis (Carmen) of San Antonio TX, Nelson Davis (Sylvia) of Virginia Beach VA, and Juan Russ of Jackson-Hamlet NC; her nieces; her nephews; generations of cousins; uncles and aunts-in-law; Love Grove Church Family; and long-time friends.
