On Wednesday October 8, 2025 Ross Christian Harris was called home to be with the Lord, leaving behind cherished memories that will live on in our hearts.
Ross was born September 19, 1966 in Wilmington, DE. He graduated from William Penn High School class of 1985. He was the beloved son of Rose Marie Harris (Piatkowski) and Ross Harris.
Ross spent many years as a dedicated machinist for DuHadaway Tool & Die and most recently, Air Liquide. He earned the respect and friendship of many of his co-workers, forming bonds that lasted well beyond the workplace.
Outside of work, Ross had a deep interest in politics, but his true passion was cars. He loved souping them up, talking about them and spending countless hours fine-tuning every last detail. He even started a car group on Facebook to connect with and bring together others who shared his same passion for cars.
Above all else, Ross was most proud of his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law Patrick Cochran and the love of his life, his wife, Rebecca L. Harris (Becky).
He will be deeply missed by his children, Kristin Barlow (Chas), Christopher Harris (Andrew), Stepdaughters Cassie Repella and Connie Ferrell. Sisters; Sue Rude (Wayne), Laurie Cochran, Nancy Woerner (Franny), Veronica Owens (Irv) and his grandchildren Walter, Stephen, Shiloh and Taytum along with many nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered as being tough but soft-hearted, a man whose love for his friends and family was unwavering.
Relatives and friends are invited to Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, 521 Harmony St., New Castle, DE, on Thursday, October 16 at 12:00 pm. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Burial will take place at a later time.
