Ross Whitehead Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Trout Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Tonkawa on Mar. 30, 2026.
Ross Whitehead, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on August 14, 1962, in Enid, Oklahoma, Ross was known for his big heart, quick smile, and the unmistakable spark he brought to every room. He made life brighter, fuller, and more memorable for everyone lucky enough to know him.
Ross was the cherished son of Milo and Billie Lou Whitehead. He was preceded in death by his father, Milo Whitehead, whose legacy of strength and love Ross carried proudly throughout his life. He grew up with his siblings, Brad Whitehead and Maxie Skaggs, who survive him and will forever remember his laughter, storytelling, and larger-than-life presence.
In 1980, Ross graduated from Deer Creek-Lamont High School, where he built friendships that stood the test of time. A hardworking man with a playful spirit, Ross found his greatest joy in his family. On December 21, 1991, he married the love of his life, Sherri, in Lamont, Oklahoma. Together, they created a life full of love, humor, and unforgettable memories. Sherri was his partner in everything-his teammate, his biggest supporter, and the one who shared in all of life's adventures.
Ross's legacy lives on through his devoted children: Alisha Davis; Codi (Brandon) Walker; Hunter (Regan) Whitehead; and Jace (Desiree) Whitehead. He was also a proud father to his bonus daughter, Desirae Gagnon. His children were his pride and joy, and he made sure they knew how to work hard, laugh often, and stick together. Ross was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren-Dawson, Carmen, Zoey, Hadlee, Izzy, Jerzee, Maci, Draxston, Milo, and Lennon-who brought endless excitement, noise, and joy into his life, and he loved every second of it.
Ross had a lifelong love for farming and spent much of his life working. In 1995, he founded J-B Oilfield Services, followed by several other businesses, but his passion for farming never faded. He was a dedicated and hardworking man, putting in long hours day in and day out.

A service to celebrate Ross's life will be held on April 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Church of Lamont. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. If not able to attend, go to www.firstchurchlamont.org and click "Join LIve" where it will be live streamed.

Ross Whitehead will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, and the joy he brought into the lives of others. His memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and love shared by those who knew him best.
