Roswitha Elsa Evans

Roswitha E. Evans (Thoma), known to many as Rita, passed away peacefully in Oklahoma on January 12, 2026, at the age of 76.
She was born on November 22, 1949, in Rötz, Germany, to Michael and Ruth Thoma. She later moved to the United States with her first husband, where she resided for the remainder of her life.
Throughout her life, Rita supported herself and cared for others in practical ways. She cleaned homes, cared for children, and worked as a waitress. She always had a willingness to help and serve those around her. She loved going to the casino, attending church in Asher, seeing friends, and going for walks. She especially loved caring for her grandson Eli through the years.
Rita is survived by her four children: Cicilia (Wade) Hibbitts of California (husband Terry), Michael Wade of California (wife Kristy), Hanna McKinsey of Texas, and Kasi Evans of Oklahoma; her grandchildren: Brittnee Hibbitts, Starr Wanagitis, Drew Wade, Ethan Wade, Ashlynn Wade, and Eli Evans; her great-grandchildren: Oliver Webby, Everly Phillips, and Miller Phillips; and her brother, Fritz Thoma of Germany.
A thank you to her dear friend Charlene, who was always there for her, and to Nurse Chris at 24th Place for her kind and caring heart. The family also extends their sincere gratitude to Integris Hospice House and its staff for the compassion, kindness, and loving care they provided.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Ruth Thoma; her brother, Wolfgang Thoma; and her sister, Heidemarie Smith.
