Rouena Hegyes Obituary
Rouena Faye Newport Hegyes, 83, of Perryopolis, passed away Friday, October 4, 2024 at her home. Born October 22, 1940 in Whitsett, PA she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bernice Sophia Wilkie Newport. A lifelong resident of Whitsett and Perryopolis, Mrs. Hegyes was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Perryopolis. Rouena was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling to beaches in Florida and Mexico. Most of all, she loved spending time with children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son & daughter in law Mark & Lisa Hegyes of Perryopolis, two daughters & son in law Kelli & Rob Ohler of Perryopolis, Dawn Hegyes of Perryopolis, four grandchildren Aaron Hegyes, Megan & Dustin Leonard, Robert Ohler Jr., Darin & Lauren Ohler, two great grandchildren Griffyn Leonard and Natalee Ohler, two brothers in law Richard Hegyes of Mt. Pleasant, Robert Hegyes of Dawson, and sister in law Thomasine 'Penny' Hegyes of Perryopolis. She is preceded in death by her husband Peter Hegyes.
All will gather at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, McKeesport, for graveside services at 11 AM. Arrangements have been entrusted to Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 724-736-2515.
