John Jeffery "Jack" Hegyes ObituaryJohn Jeffrey "Jack" Hegyes, of Sayreville, peacefully passed away at his home after a long illness on Sunday, July 15, 2025, with his loving wife at his side. He was 66 years old.
Born in Sayreville to the late John and Evelyn Hegyes, Jack lived in many parts of the country throughout his life. After enlisting in the US Air Force, Jack was stationed in California where he met his loving wife. After living there for a few years, Jack received a job offer from Boeing to work in Seattle, WA as an electrical mechanic. He and his family lived there for over 25 years until deciding to move back to Sayreville, where he resided for the rest of his life.
John was an incredibly intelligent man. After mastering the art of electrical mechanics in the Air Force, he returned to school at age 45 and was the top of his class in automotive engineering. It became one of his great passions later in life, spending time at all waking hours working on his cars. He loved travelling with his dear wife, driving across the country for the past many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend and will be missed by the many he knew throughout his life.
Jack is predeceased by his loving brother Ricky Hegyes. Surviving is his beloved wife and partner of 43 years Leilani Hegyes of Sayreville; his children and their spouses Maryjane and Dale Eggers of CA, Dottie Mathews of CA, Davlyn and Tom Adams of WA, and Janel and Paul Brough of WA; his grandchildren Eric, Tristan, Jason, Chelsea, David, Andrew, Tommy J., Travis, Noah, and Avah; and his great-grandchildren Kayala, Kekoa, Kaia, Malia, Kailani, Julian, and Isaiah.
All services are private under the direction of the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin, NJ.
