Cheryl L Brembor ObituaryCheryl L. Brembor, age 68, of South Amboy, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Monmouth Medical Center, with her loving daughter, niece (Christine) and nephew (Frankie) by her side. Born in Perth Amboy, Cheryl had made South Amboy her home for the past 14 years.
Cherly worked as a customer care specialist at Vrola Meats, where her warm personality and dedication made a lasting impression on both coworkers and customers.
Cheryl deeply cherished time with her family, and her granddaughters were truly the light of her life, they lovingly referred to her as Mama. She found joy in life's simple pleasures --- scratching off lottery tickets, leisurely strolling through the aisles of Costco and Walmart, and turning quick errands into delightful, hour-long adventures. She especially loved outings to Sephora and the mall with her granddaughter Alivia, always making special memories along the way.
One of her favorite traditions was the yearly day trip to the Poconos, filled with laughter and joy from start to finish. She treasured these moments with her daughter, Cousin Diana, and Stacey, often laughing so hard they cried. Cheryl's kind heart, warm sense of humor, and unmistakable presence will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Edward and Barbara Swanick, and by her devoted partner of over 30 years, Roberto Castillo.
Cheryl leaves behind her loving daughter, Jessica Brembor, and her partner Jason Salgado; her cherished granddaughters, Alivia and Shania Salgado; her sister, Linda Matullo, and husband Frank; her niece and nephews Frankie and Dawn Matullo, Christine Corallo, and Danny & Debra Matullo; as well as her great-nieces and nephews Megan, Vincent, Lindsay, Samantha, Amanda, Nicholas, and Ian. She is also survived by many cousins and dear friends whose lives she touched and who will miss her deeply.
A private cremation has been entrusted to the care of Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin. A memorial service to celebrate Cheryl's life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 11:30am until 1:30pm. Please check back for updates.
