ROVERTA HUNT Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomson Funeral System on Jan. 25, 2026.
MRS. ROVERTA BROWN HUNT, age 89, of 333 Bordeaux Drive, Thomson, GA passed on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at her residence. Family members and friends may call at the funeral home. THOMSON FUNERAL SYSTEM, Thomson, GA oversees all arrangements.

We gather here today to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Roverta Hunt-a woman whose faith, love, and strength touched every life she encountered. Today, as we remember her, let us celebrate not only the years she lived but the countless ways she made our lives richer, warmer, and brighter. Born on April 6, 1936, in Forest, Mississippi, to Glover, Sr. and Annie Brown, Mrs. Roverta lived a full 89 years, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, service, and care.

She spent most of her life in Delray Beach, Florida, and for the past year and a few months, she resided in Thomson, Georgia. She retired from Boca Community Hospital, where her dedication and commitment impacted colleagues and patients alike. Beyond her work, she had a remarkable passion for cooking and baking, and she loved tending to her garden; a reflection of the nurturing and patient spirit she carried in her heart.

Mrs. Roverta was a woman of strong faith and conservative values. She enjoyed walks in the fresh air, quiet reflection, and the simple joys of life. She embraced her Christian beliefs fully and lived them every day, guiding her family with love, wisdom, and grace.

In addition to her parents, our beloved Roverta is preceded in death by six siblings: two sisters, Lueverta Hunt and Boddie B. Rolle; and four brothers, James Mac Brown, Wayne Brown, Glover Brown, Jr., and Ray Brown.

Mrs. Roverta's family was the center of her universe. She leaves to mourn: a devoted son, Melton H. (Mary Ann) Hunt of Thomson, GA; three daughters, Lora (Chauncey) Baine of California, Helen Gilmore of Atlanta, GA, and Lessie Shuler of Florida; two sisters, Anne (Dr. I.C.) Spivey of Lake City, FL and Bobbie (Boise) Harris of Thomson, GA; three brothers, Freddie (Betty) Brown of Sylvester, GA, Kenneth (Sharon) Brown of Lake City, FL and Gene Allen Brown of Florida; an additional sister-in-law, Mary Brown, all of Sylvester, GA; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Roverta Hunt was a woman who radiated quiet strength. She taught us how to work hard, love deeply, and live with faith and integrity. Her life was a testament to the power of family, faith, and beauty in simple pleasures. Though we will miss her presence, her love and her lessons will remain with us forever.
