Roxie Ronelda Donovan Sarty went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 12, 2021.
Mrs. Sarty was born on December 5, 1939, in Owensboro, KY, to the late Gerald Henry Donovan and Mabel Gann Donovan. Roxie retired from Canteen at Womack Army Hospital. She was a loving wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of her life service will be held on Wednesday, November 17, at 2:00 p.m. in the Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home Chapel, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 18.
In addition to her parents, Roxie was preceded in death by her brother, Brinsley "Benny" Donovan.
Roxie leaves to cherish her memory to her husband of 60 years: SGM (Ret) Bert Franklin Sarty of the home; two daughters: Deborah "Debbie" K. Sarty (Randy) Melvin and Tondra Lynn Sarty (Robert) Ray, both of Fayetteville; two sons: Steven W. Sarty and Bert F. Sarty Jr. (Lisa), both of Fayetteville; and one sister: Peggy Donovan Wade of Owensboro, KY.
