Roy C. Beasley Jr., 73, of Toledo Bend, Louisiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by love and prayer. Born in Eagle Lake, Texas, Roy spent most of his childhood in Lafayette, Louisiana, where the roots of his Cajun spirit took hold. In 1983, he moved with his family to Toledo Bend where he built a life deeply rooted in faith, nature, and love. A proud Vietnam veteran, Roy honorably served his country in the United States Army. His service was a source of lifelong pride, and his sense of duty, strength, and patriotism stayed with him throughout his life. He also served in his local community as a volunteer firefighter, always ready to help those in need. Roy was a man of unwavering faith and was instrumental in the founding and construction of St. Terence Catholic Church on Toledo Bend. His dedication to the church remains a lasting testament to his belief in service and community. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Sr. and Betty Beasley; his siblings, Dianna, Richard, and Roger Beasley; and his beloved son, Jeffery Hampton. He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Pamela Beasley; his brother, Russell Beasley (Katherine), his children, Laura Hampton Goins (John), Robin Hampton, and Elroy Beasley; his grandchildren, Candyce Baker (Sean), Seth Gribbin (Jennifer), Max Sanchez (Ashley), Amber Hampton, Kiley Beasley, and Ryder Beasley; and a host of great-grandchildren. Roy's heart belonged to the outdoors. He was happiest hunting, fishing, and sharing Cajun meals with family and friends. His generous spirit, sharp wit, love of storytelling, and fondness for a good debate made him unforgettable to everyone who knew him. He took pride in his family's accomplishments and never missed a chance to celebrate their successes. In his final year, Roy received compassionate care at the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Bossier City. Even there, he continued to touch lives – making friends, sharing pastimes, and bringing warmth to all around him. His legacy is one of love, strength, faith, and service. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit lives on in the many hearts he touched. "Well done, good and faithful servant" – Matthew 25:23 A memorial service for Roy will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Harmony Cove Baptist Church. The burial with military honors will follow in Harmony Cove Baptist Church Elm Cemetery under the direction of Jeane's Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
