Dr Chaney was very good friends with my father. We grew up in Pasadena with Dr Chaney taking care of all our animals. Kind and good man.

I was fortunate to work for Dr. Chaney from about 1970-1974, at Angel Animal Hospital and after that worked weekends at the emergency clinic that he was instrumental in getting established. As a 16 year old teenager, that's parents had passed away earlier in my life Dr. Chaney was a mentor and a role model that I learned from, both how to treat people and how to act responsibly.
He had new veterinarians, like Dr. Austin, a newer vet that came in and learned the ropes from Dr. Chaney, and his established practice. Dr. Austin was successful and went on to open his open clinic.
In 1976 I moved out of state but did travel back to see him at his practice in about 1993. I walked in and told the receptionist my pet alligator is in my car and had an infected tooth and I needed Dr. Chaney to take a look. A couple of minutes later he came out of the exam room saw me and said something like, by golly bring that darn alligator in here we are going to make us some boots! That was Dr. Chaney a open, honest and a sense of humor. Dr. Chaney was a loving caring doctor and he is missed. My thoughts go out to his family and all of us that loved him,

I never met Mr. Chaney, but I know somewhat of him through my friends Glen and Diane Dewease. Mr. Chaney accomplished much, but the true measure of a man is through his family. Diane is a wonderful example of his legacy. To all the family member my condolence. We are praying for the Mr. Chaney and his family.
