Ishpeming Twp., MI - Roy T. Coduti, age 96, of 430 Peterson Ave. Ishpeming, MI, passed away peacefully Friday, January 6, 2023, at his home.
Roy was born in Ishpeming, MI on March 16, 1926, a son of the late Gladys (Larmour) and Francis Coduti and grew up in North Lake Location. Roy worked for the Cleveland Cliffs Iron Co. for 30 years, retiring from the Republic Mine.
Roy was a lifetime member of the Ishpeming Elks. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Wawonowin Country Club. Roy was an active lifelong athlete who enjoyed throwing horseshoes for over 40 years and also belonged to a couple of bowling leagues. He loved his local hunting but really enjoyed his hunting trips out in Oregon with his brother. Roy was a caring and considerate man who was full of life. He had a quick wit with a wonderful sense of humor and loved telling stories of family and the good old days. He had an incredible memory and never forgot anyone he had met over the years. He loved his family and especially enjoyed following his grandchildren's sporting activities. He even became adept at using the technology to watch games over the high school sports network. Everyone who knew him loved him and enjoyed being in his company. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Betty Burke-Coduti of Ishpeming Twp., two sons, Anthony (Cynthia) Coduti of Menominee; Scott F. (Kelly) Coduti of Grandville, MI; stepson Shawn (Tammy) Swanson of Macomb; sister, Susan Dowrick of Ishpeming; 6 grandchildren - Mark (Jessie) Coduti, Kevin (Christie) Coduti; Roy (Janet) LeSage, Brayden Swanson; Casey (Josh) Tarbox, Brett (Linda) Peterson; Alex Casperson; 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Roy was preceded in death by his first wife Beatrice (Garceau) Coduti; daughter Geraldine LeSage, grandson Leonard LeSage and granddaughter Cindy LeSage; brothers, Les and Robert Coduti and sister Judy Swanson, sister-in-laws Shirley Coduti and Ann Burke, brother-in-laws Roger Dowrick and Edward Swanson.
The family would like to thank Dr Michael Prevost for his wonderful care and friendship and the personal attention of Dr. Paul Hudson, VJ Munagala and staff at Cardiology Associates of Bellin Health in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Per Roy's wishes cremation will take place with no formal viewing or services at this time. A graveside service and celebration of Roy's life will be held this summer with the date to be announced.
