NEW BERN, NC Mr. Roy Lee Games, 94, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012. A native of Greene County, Roy was a longtime resident of Craven County, where he worked in Civil Service as a machinist at USMC-Cherry Point. He was a former member of the New Bern Planning Board and a member of Doric Masonic Lodge #568 AF&AM. In his spare time , Roy enjoyed farming, and being with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie S. Games in 2003. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM, Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Pollock~Best Chapel with Rev. Charlene Pierce-Guider officiating and his great-grandson, Ross T. Hardeman as Eulogist. The family will receive friends from 6-7 PM, Thursday, July 5, 2012, prior to the service and other times at the home of his daughter, Glenda G. Hicks. Those wishing to offer words of hope or online condolences may visit www.pollockbest.com. Interment will be 9:00 AM, Friday, July 6, 2012 at Greenleaf Memorial Park. Roy is survived by his daughter, Glenda Games Hicks and husband Jimmie B. Hicks; grandchildren, Denise H. Hardeman, and husband Mark; Jimmie B. Hicks, Jr.; granddaughter-in-law, Beth B. Hicks; great grandchildren, Matthew S. Hardeman, Ross T. Hardeman, Jacob B. Hicks, and Bailey M. Hicks, all of New Bern, NC. Roy is also survived by his sister, Sally G. Grant, of Haines City, FL; and his brother, Gerald Game, of Simi Valley, CA. Memorials may be made to Colonial Capital Humane Society PO Box 326, New Bern, NC 28563-0326, or www.colonialcapital.org.
