Roy Albert Gibson, age 81, left his earthly home on Wednesday, August 13th, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born on Monday, November 29th, 1943 in Wichita, Kansas to Albert Henry and Helen Loran Gibson (Chambers).
Roy grew up in Wichita and graduated from West High School. He went on to attend Kansas Newman University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Economics. He worked as an owner and property manager for 51 years, never retiring. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Rogers. He enjoyed spending time on the lake, scuba diving, snow skiing, ziplining and adventuring with his family. His grandkids were a huge part of his life. He loved using and sharing his many toys he accumulated over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Helen; and one sister, Wanda Schmidt.
Roy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dian Kay Gibson; three daughters, Shannan Indelicato (Vince) of Rogers, Carrie Gibson (Fritz Kunzel) of San Diego, California, Kimbe King (Kevin) of Springfield, Missouri; four grandkids, Kayleigh King, Giuseppe Indelicato, Kannon King, and Kambell King; and three siblings, John Gibson of Wichita, Jim Gibson of Springfield, and Robert Schmidt of Wichita.
A private graveside service will be held on Monday, August 18th, 2025 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Rogers at 10:00 a.m., followed by a public Celebration of Life at First Baptist Church of Rogers, Pleasant Grove campus, at 11:00 a.m., Pastor Wes George officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Rogers "building fund" in his memory.
