Roy Dwane Janway Sr.

Roy Dwane Janway Sr., of Evans, passed away December 5, 2023.
He was born February 21, 1948 to Jessie and Belva (Cummins) Janway in McAlester, Oklahoma, joining older brother Jessie Jr. and sister Ileta at home. Younger sisters, Rita and Sandra Kay, completed the family in the following years.
Roy moved to Bennett, Colorado with his family in 1959 and attended Bennett Schools. In early 1970 Roy met Sharon Kay Goodwin who he would marry (along with her three daughters, Judi, Rhonda & Tammie) on November 30, 1970. Over the next few years their family would be complete with the arrival of Roy Jr. and Tawnya (Sissy). Roy Sr. was a family man and an amazing provider. Through the years he worked in various positions in the oil field (eventually retiring as an oil field mechanic), as well as a transmission specialist for a repair shop owned by a long-time family friend. Roy was a gifted self-taught mechanic who could fix just about anything. Roy was also a volunteer firefighter for his hometown Bennett and was a member of the local Jaycees Club.
Roy loved the outdoors, particularly spending time camping, boating, and waterskiing. He enjoyed bowling and hanging out with friends. Most of all, Roy enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his sidekick (dog), Buddy.
Roy is survived by his daughters, Judi Harmon, Rhonda Simons, Tammie (Rob) Ingino, Tawnya (Brian) Ross, son, Roy (Sheila) Janway Jr., grandchildren, Randy Harmon, Brandon Harmon, Dustin Harmon, Shantiel Siem, Danielle Lahey, Kayla Simons, Ashley Simons, Lyndee White, Tyler Ingino, Hayden Ingino, Dylan Janway, Bailey Goodluck, Brianna Ross-Everitt, Cameron Ross, and twenty-one great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Sharon, brother, Jessie Janway Jr., and his parents.

A luncheon gathering celebrating Roy will be held at the home of Rob & Tammie Ingino (303 N. 46th Avenue Court, Greeley, 80634) immediately following the graveside service.
A viewing for Roy will be held Monday, December 11, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Allnutt Funeral & Cremation - Macy, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634. A burial will occur Monday, December 11, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Evans Cemetery, 11th Avenue, Garden City, CO 80631.
