Roy Allen Minga

Roy Allen Minga, 81, of Gloster, Mississippi, passed away Thursday April 24, 2025 at Field Health Systems in Centreville, MS., with his wife of 60 years Suzette by his side.
Roy was born July 16, 1943 to Jack and Louise Minga in Memphis, TN. He worked for MP&L/Entergy for twenty-one and one-half years, beginning in Hernando, MS. In 1976, he and his wife transferred to Gloster, MS., with their three daughters.
Roy was lifelong outdoorsman. He played football at Holmes Junior College, and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Roy is survived by his wife Suzetta Minga; daughters Rhonda Hughey (Bud), Wanda Sterling (Ronald Dale), and Angie McCranie; and a nephew Bruce Thornton (Carol), that he thought of as a son; grandchildren Crystal Hughes, Shelby Blalock (Braxton), Morgan McCranie, Charlie Smith, Chance Sterling, and Meagan Floyd (Cody); seven great grandchildren; his sister Peggy Ragsdale of Grenada, MS, his brother Larry Minga (Sandra) of Grenada, MS, and several nieces and nephews.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Louise Minga, and one brother A.J. Minga of Grenada, MS.
Visitation is Monday April 28,2025 at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, MS. from 11:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Roger Johnson, Pastor at Galilee First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery on Busy Corner Road near Gloster.
Pallbearers are Charlie Smith, Chance Sterling, Bud Hughey, Bruce Thornton, Ronald Dale Sterling, and Braxton Blalock.
Honorary Pallbearers are Donald McIntyre, Hylan Carraway, Rick Rushing, and Mark Hennington.
