Roy Donald Pywell, 81, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022, in McPherson, KS. He was born in Palco, KS on April 30, 1940, the son of Cecil and Alice Fern Pywell.
He is survived by sons Mark and wife Sally of Burdett, Brad and Mary of Lindsborg, daughter Joy Edghill and husband Darre, Murfreesboro TN; grandsons, Lane Pywell, Chase and Corbin Pywell, Malachi and Syre Edghill; and brother Lonnie Pywell.
He is preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, parents, and brothers Charles 'Corky' and James Pywell.
Roy grew up on a family farm near Palco. He graduated from Fort Hays State University. He married his wife Evelyn Corwin on August 11, 1963. He worked for the United States Soil Conservation Service for many years. After retirement he worked for Coop in Satanta and Sublette. Roy loved his family. Anyone who knew him discovered how proud he was of his children and grandchildren within the first few conversations. Roy's smile and wonderful personality blessed everyone who was around him.
Roy committed his life to loving the Lord and serving as a prayer warrior for many. We celebrate his life as one well lived and are thankful for the blessing, he was to us. He will be deeply missed.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Palco at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be Friday, January 7, 2022 at the funeral home from 5PM until 7 PM with family receiving friends 5PM to 6:30PM. (This is not a typo - the Visitation is the 7th, service on the 15th).
Memorials are suggested to Sublette Southern Baptist Church and may be sent in care of Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, 320 SW 2nd St., Plainville, KS 67663.
