CUYAHOGA FALLS - Roy J. Raber, 61, died on Monday, June 30, 2025.

Born in Millersburg, Ohio, on August 2, 1963, to Jonas A. and Mary (Yoder) Raber, he was a graduate of The University of Akron and Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.  Roy had been a longtime employee of Blaze Technical Services, Inc., a former funeral director with Redmon Funeral Home and Ferfolia Funeral Homes, Inc., and had also been employed with Builders Square.

Consistent, humble, analytical, dependable, and a great listener, are ways people would describe Roy.  Mixed in with those characteristics was a little-known sense of adventure that Roy used to sky dive, ride slingshots, go up in hot air balloons and on roller coasters, and even to salsa dance.

Roy was also a NASCAR and Cleveland sports fan.

Preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Chris Richmond, and his beloved golden retriever, Max, he leaves behind his wife, Kathleen; his dog, Buzz, a 4-year-old Newfypoo; his parents, Jonas A. and Mary (Yoder) Raber; his six siblings, Ruth (Kevin) Vaughn, Jonas Raber, Jr., Steve (Jodi) Raber, Carolyn Richmond, Elaine (Kevin) Daubenmire, and Lisa Mast, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Roy’s family would like to extend a very special “thank you” to Ralph and Candy Hickman of Blaze Technical Services, Inc., and to the Cuyahoga Falls Cancer Club.

Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224, for visitation, on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 5 to 7 PM.  Funeral services for Roy will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 11 AM, at The Chapel (Memorial Chapel), 135 Fir Hill, Akron 44304, where friends may call from 10 AM until time of service.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls.
