Roy Alan Redifer

Roy Alan Redifer, 56, of Scottsburg IN, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023 of complications from heart surgery at Norton Hospital in Louisville KY. Roy was born November 20, 1966 at Kentucky Baptist Hospital in Louisville KY. He was the son of the late Alan "Buzz" Redifer and the late Freda Duckett Redifer. He was a graduate of Scottsburg High School, Class of 1985. Roy was an animal lover and over the years previously owned several lab dogs. He held various jobs during his life, and for several years was a semi truck driver until he had a massive heart attack which took him off the road as a driver. Roy was a quiet man, keeping to himself, however he had several friends and was a true friend to all those he met. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Along with his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his love and companion Joyce Stephens. He is survived by his sister Alanna Reece; his nieces Emily Jordan and husband Dustin, with their children Reece and Caroline Jordan; Sarah Riley and husband Justin, with their children Aleigha, Bentley and Conner Riley; Joyce's children Alyssa Stephens and Tim Stephens, and Joyce's grandson Brody Stephens.
Pastor Dan McDonald will conduct Funeral Services, Monday, June 19 2023, 1pm at the funeral home. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 19 2023, 11am – 1pm at Christensen-Hoagland Family Funeral Home, 80 N 1st St., Scottsburg IN. Burial will be at a later date at Scottsburg Cemetery.
