Roy Duane Sanders IV, age 30, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on June 19, 2025, surrounded by love.
Roy was born on December 7, 1994, in San Antonio, Texas, to Roy and Anna Sanders. He grew up with a kind heart, a bright mind, and a deep love for his family. He graduated from Collins Hill High School in May 2014.
Roy was born with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, but that never slowed him down. He faced life with quiet courage, deep humor, and an unwavering sense of joy. His physical limitations never defined him-instead, he used his voice and creativity to inspire others.
Roy was an influencer, Twitch streamer, and YouTube content creator. He just wanted to have fun sharing his love for gaming-especially retro, RPG, indie, and MMO titles. He built a following not just for his skill and knowledge, but for his kindness, authenticity, and humor. He worked closely with online gaming communities such as the A'therys Ascended Community and spent countless hours helping in any way he could, gathering many online friends along the way.
Roy found joy in the simple things offline as well-he was a proud Boy Scout, loved camping and fishing, and spent many nights watching meteor showers with his dad. His greatest joys were spending time with his family and connecting with his friends, both near and far.
He is survived by his loving parents, Roy and Anna Sanders; his sister Canada (Sanders) McCauley and her husband Nolan; his brother Sgt. William L. Sanders and wife Payton; his sister Emily Sanders and fiancé William. Roy was a proud uncle to his niece Rose and nephew Gryphon. He is also remembered with love by his grandparents Toni Sanders, Bonnie Ruiz, and Randy Pike, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Roy's strength, generosity, and gentle spirit touched lives both in person and across the digital world. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Celebration of Life A celebration of Roy's life will be held at Wilson Community Church on July 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
To honor Roy's fun-loving personality, we kindly invite you to wear one of his favorites-a Hawaiian shirt or a fishing shirt with fish on it. The brighter and more colorful, the better. Roy loved these things, and nothing would make him smile more than seeing a room full of vibrant colors as we celebrate his life together.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Roy's memory by donating to Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD): [https://donate.parentprojectmd.org/give/369549/#!/donation ]
