Roy L. Simmons, 77, of Plainfield, passed away on March 2, 2026. He was born on March 7, 1948 in Kokomo, IN to the late Clyde and Etna Simmons. Roy was a Ben Davis High School graduate of 1966. He was an assembly line worker for GM until he retired. Roy enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, riding his golf cart with his grand kids and dog, Macy. He was an avid Colts, Pacers and Indiana University fan. Roy loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Simmons; sisters, Darlene Washburn and Joy Didion. Visitation will be on Monday, March 9, 2026 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Cindy Simmons; son, Ryan (Melissa) Simmons; brothers, Larry and Terry Simmons; grandchildren, Amelia, Grady and Grant Simmons.
