Roy Simonson Obituary
1944 ~ 2025
Roy passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 80. He was born on November 24, 1944 in Murray, Utah to Clea Dansie and Melvin Herman Simonson. Roy attended Jordan High School and belonged to the Rick Show Car Club. Served in the Army Reserves as a helicopter mechanic.
He worked for United Airlines and Highland Dairy, and in the trucking industry for over 50 years. Married Jauna Routh in 1977.
Roy loved to hunt, fish and later in life play golf. He took pride in his yard and loved to share his garden with friends and neighbors.
Survived by his wife Jauna, his daughter Cindy (Virgil) Brown, stepson Scott (Carisa) Routh, sisters Colleen McArthur, Linda (Jim) Cherrington; granddaughter Kayla and grandson Brayden; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 31st at 11:00 AM at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale. Friends are invited to greet the family during the viewings on Wednesday, July 30th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Thursday, July 31st from 10:00 to 11:00 AM also at Goff Mortuary. Interment to follow services at Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery, 6500 S. Redwood Rd., West Jordan.

I remember Roy from old Sandy and Jordan High. Roy was one of the Cool Guys. Very handsome, always had a smile, and very friendly. Rest in peace!!
