Roy Cleveland Smith

Roy Cleveland Smith, born August 16, 1938, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at approximately 6:25 p.m. surrounded by family. Roy is survived by his daughters, Monica Banks (Derrick Banks Sr.), and Anna Lewis (Farrell Lewis) and his sons, Jody Martin Sr. (Agnes Martin) and Michael Martin Sr. (Sharon Martin). He is survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Rosemary Smith and granddaughter, Michel'le Martin. He was a long-time resident of New Orleans, LA., but was born in Lawrence County, New Hebron, Mississippi. He was a simple man who lived a simple life. He loved and honored his family and friends. His will to live and his tenacity to push through his ailments was a testament to his character and belief in God. But, at last, he surrendered all unto God peacefully and with dignity. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at JE Banquets, 2485 Guadalcanal St. New Orleans, LA, 70114.
