Roy Olen Williams, 67, of London, Arkansas, died Saturday, August 9, 2025, at his home after a long and courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's disease.
Following a private family committal in the Chapel of Light, cremation arrangements were provided by the J. Herman Humphrey Dignity Cremation Center under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service, Russellville, Arkansas.
The son of Waymon and Helene Lesch Williams, Roy was born February 12, 1958, in Germany. He married Denise Marie (Corkrum) Williams, in Penryn, California, on December 19, 1981.
Roy served a 20-year career in the military as a mechanic and Staff Sergeant with four years in the Marine Corp and another 16 years in the U.S. Air Force. Following his military retirement, Roy worked another 20 years as a machinist with Puget Sound Surgical in Tacoma, Washington. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, photography, and flying remote-controlled airplanes. Roy had a passion for civil war enactment and collected many relics including an impressive gun collection from that era.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Joshua Williams.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Denise; a son, Chad Corkrum (Mona) of London; a granddaughter, Amelia Corkrum; a grandson, Justin Corkrum; two sisters, Hannalore Blanchard of Slidell, Louisiana, and Trish Mills (Joe) of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; and two sisters-in-law, Karleen Corkrum of Spokane, Washington, and Cynthia Van Zelzer (Eric) of Escondido, California.
