Royal Van Morris

With deep sadness, we share the passing of Royal Van Morris, age 60, of Pooler, Georgia, who departed this life on December 25, 2025.

Royal grew up in Akron, Ohio where he lived most of his adult life and moved to Georgia after his retirement. He was a cherished member of his community. Royal proudly served his community as he retired from the Akron Fire Department as a firefighter / paramedic. He also served in the US Air Force. His life was dedicated to protecting and helping others. His service, courage, and compassion touched many lives. His legacy will live on the hearts of those whose lives he touched. His memory will continue to inspire acts of bravery and kindness.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Russell Morris, Sr.

He is survived by mother, Ernestine Young Morris; children, Jordan M Morris and Quienna Broadnax Mills; brother, John Morris, Jr; sister, Tara Morris; and brother, Shawn McGowan Morris.

Our family extends heartfelt thanks for the overwhelming love and support during this difficult time. We ask for continued thoughts and prayers as we grieve this profound loss. Please keep the Morris family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, donations my be made to Fisher House of Charleston, an organization that provides housing for veterans and their families who are in need of long term housing while awaiting medical care in Charleston.
