Ruben Cavasos, 60, of Fremont, passed away on February 20, 2023 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was born on June 2, 1962 to Manuel and Teodora (Lara) Cavasos in Fremont, Michigan. On November 22, 1979 he married Maxine Miller Cavasos in Fremont, Michigan. Ruben worked as a fiber optic cable installer, general factory laborer, and loved being a mechanic. He enjoyed working on old cars and collecting Hot Wheels. Ruben is survived by his wife Maxine, his sons: Ruben Michael Cavasos, Manuel Melvin Cavasos, Joseph Luis (Julie) Cavasos; his daughter, Manuelita Anna Cavasos; 14 grandchildren, a great-grandson, brothers: Jose Angel Lozano, Gregorio Lozano, Manuel (Vicki) Cavasos Jr., Alonzo Cavasos, Pedro Cavasos, Jose Cavasos, Roberto Cavasos, Arnulfo (Marion) Cavasos; sisters: Juanita Cavasos, Lorenza (Carlos) Aguilar, Amelia (Francisco) Quintino, Maria Martinez, Conception (Brad) Barnaby; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Rosita Diaz, Adela Quintino Cavasos, and brother Gilberto Cavasos. Visitation will be held Monday, February 27, 2023, 10:00 am - 11:00 am with funeral services at 11:00 am at the Fields-McKinley Funeral and Cremation Services Grant Chapel, with Pastor Daniel Fullmer officiating. Burial will take place in the Parkview Cemetery. For memorials, please consider donating toward funeral expenses. Please share your memories of Ruben online at www.fieldsmckinley.com.
