Ruben William Holocker

 

Ruben William Holocker, 60, of Sparland Illinois, died on September 25, 2023 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center Emergency Room in Peoria Illinois. Born on New Year’s Day 1963 to the late Louis and Mary (McCombs) Holocker. He graduated from Sparland High School and worked as an assembler at LR Nelsons in Peoria for 20 years.

Ruben had many hobbies, he was always able to keep himself busy. If he was not mowing yards, he was working on someone’s car. He was always helping someone do something. He was not afraid to lend a helping hand in a time of need, that’s for sure. He loved his fishing and wood carving. With all his hobbies, he always found time for his Tuesday night social and Sunday morning breakfast with family and friends. His most favorite hobby of all was his kids and grandkids. They were his whole world.

Ruben is survived by his sons Ruben Eakins of Sparland, Kyle Holocker of Lacon, Greg Holocker of Lacon; daughter Jennifer (Jesse) Crisp of Lacon; brothers Louis “Bucky” (Teryl) Holocker of Varna, Jeff (Angie) Holocker of Sparland, Albert (Cammy) Adams of Tulsa; sisters Mary (Daryl) Clemenson of Chillicothe, Vickie (Chad) Smith of Lacon, Deb Clare of  Sparland, Charlotte (Glen) Crew of Magnolia;  and grandchildren Ryan, Abi, Raleigh, Ayden, Rilee, Hunter, Waylon & Blaze. He was also preceded in death by his stepmom Nelly Holocker, sister Sandy Adams, brother Steve “Stevo” Adams, and brother-in-law Larry Clare.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Lacon Community Center on Sunday, October 15th from 11-2. Online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com.
