Ruben Lerma, 66, of Pampa, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025 in Pampa.
No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Ruben was born on March 2, 1959 in Hidalgo County, Texas to Adan and Asencion Cardona Lerma. He married Nora Davila in November of 1979. They moved to Pampa in 1979 and were blessed with four children, Becky, Connie, Ruben, Jr., and Rey. Ruben worked in maintenance for most of his life and ran his own lawncare business as well. He was a member of the St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Ruben enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his family. He was a generous man with a heart of gold. Ruben cared deeply for family, friends, and even animals. He will be missed greatly by everyone he has known.
Ruben was preceded in death by his parents, Adan and Asencion Lerma; one grandson, Jose Vargas Renteria; one granddaughter, Rosa Norma Matice; and one sister-in-law, Delma Rodriguez.
He is survived by his wife, Nora Lerma of the home; four children, Becky Davila, Connie Lerma, Ruben Lerma, Jr., and Rey Angel Lerma; four siblings, Daniel Lerma, Diana Ragaldo, Irma Lerma, and Terry Soto; four grandchildren, Leticia Urrutia, Jose Urrutia, Hortencia Urrutia, and Robert Vargas Renteria; two great-grandchild, Josiah Urruita and one on the way; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
