Sherry Sue Thomas, 78, of Pampa, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at her home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM, Saturday at the funeral home in Pampa.
Sherry was born on July 25, 1947, to Marie Lue and William Lee Arnold in Shamrock, Texas. The family moved all across the country as migrant farm workers when Sherry was a young child. They would eventually settle in Pampa in the early 1950’s and Sherry would attend school in Pampa. After obtaining her GED, Sherry would attend Frank Phillips College. She worked in retail sales for many years and at several stores in downtown Pampa, many will remember her for selling Estée Lauder products.
Sherry would eventually meet the love of her life, John Wesley “Wes” Thomas and the two would get married on November 24, 1976. Sherry and Wes were famous for their annual Labor Day Fish Fry. The two of them loved to dance until they couldn’t and made sure to attend the Bluegrass festival in Mobeetie whenever they could. Sherry worked with Wes at Thomas Propane until they closed the business in 2003, after this Sherry helped Wes with his metal scrapping business. Wes and Sherry spent a lot of time going camping, fishing, and hunting, with Sherry being referred to as an “expert marksman” by her family.
Sherry was an extremely kind and caring woman who wasn’t afraid to stand up for what was right, especially when it came to her children and grandchildren. She was a faithful Christian who became a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Pampa later in life.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Norma Sanufur, Nancy Henderson, Billie Moore, Ruby Arnold, and Bobbie Arnold; and her husband of 44 years, John Wesley “Wes” Thomas.
She is survived by her brother, Johnny Arnold, of the home; a son, Rodney Mcpherson and wife Kathleen of Pampa; a daughter, Dana Martinez of Pampa; thirteen grandchildren, Heather Ponce, Ben Ponce and wife Hannah, Christian Free, Evan Free, Gabriel Martinez, Jacob Martinez and wife Natalia, DaNae Martinez, Kimberly Vance, Demetrio Martinez IV and wife Sheralyn, Erik Shephard and wife Chen, Elizabeth Shephard, Alexandria Wagner, and Crystalee Dressler; seventeen great-grandchildren; four “bonus” children, Kelly Horton, Dana Mcpherson, Shawn Mcpherson, and Tony Mcpherson; four “bonus” grandchildren, Maggie Fobb, Riley Crutchfield, Charles Jones, and Demi Jones; as well as many beloved extended family members and friends.
