Ruben Lopez Obituary
Publish in a newspaper
Ruben was a life-long member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church where he served as an usher and helped with the Guadalupana Society. He was the owner and operator of "Gilberto Lopez and Son's Tile Co." along with his brother David.
Ruben had a passion for building model cars and baking. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews making desserts, especially his cookies and homemade Big Red ice cream.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, George Lopez.
Ruben is survived by siblings, brother, David (Alma J.) Lopez; sister, Sarah L. (Victor) Cortez; two nieces, Amy Garcia and Vyctorya Bowen; three nephews, Rico (Gabby P.) Cortez, Israel Perez, and Jose David Lopez. Ruben is also survived by great nieces and nephews, Cameron, Kaileigh, Jason, Layla, Damien, and Axel.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5th at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Karnes City. Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. also at the Funeral Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6th at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes City. Burial will follow at the New Bremen Cemetery.
