Ruben Moreno

Ruben Moreno, 63, a kind, gentle and loving soul to all who knew him, passed away peacefully in his hometown of El Paso, Texas, on May 18, 2025. Born on July 1, 1961, in El Paso, he was a cherished son, husband, brother, uncle, and friend whose warmth and wisdom touched many lives.
Ruben is survived by his wife Erika, father Filemon, and siblings Manuel (Carmen) and Esther (David). He was preceded in death by his mother Julia and siblings Feliciano and Armando.
Ruben graduated from Burges High School and earned a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Master of Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. As a social worker, therapist, and professional counselor, he spent his career offering guidance and support to countless individuals and families. Ruben was driven by his genuine desire to help others and to make a positive difference in the lives of everyone he touched.
Beyond his career, Ruben also was an artist at heart. He expressed his creativity through music, poetry, and writing. He was also known for his sense of humor, bringing laughter and joy to his friends, strangers and family alike. Ruben's spirit of fun and his ability to find humor in the everyday endeared him to all.
Those who knew Ruben will remember him as the best son, husband, brother, uncle and friend one could ask for. His nieces and nephews, Liliana and Tony Moreno; Giovanna and Dante Meza; Ruth, Brenda, July, Javier, and Mari Moreno; and Ana Luisa Sanchez, among other great-nieces and nephews, will cherish memories of an uncle who was always there with a kind word, a funny joke, or a wise piece of advice.
Ruben's legacy is one of kindness, laughter, and wisdom. He has left an irreplaceable mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to cross his path. He will be deeply missed, but the light of his spirit will continue to shine in the lives of his family, friends, and the many people he helped throughout his life.
Ruben left us much too soon, but may his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 5 pm to 9 pm, with a vigil/rosary at 7 pm, at Perches Funeral Home – West, 6111 S. Desert Blvd, El Paso, TX. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 5750 Doniphan Dr, El Paso, TX.
