Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Service on Nov. 11, 2025.
It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Ruben Ramiro Rodriguez, who was called home on November 10, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and faithful man whose life was filled with love, pride, and joy for his family.
Ruben was born to Maria de Los Angeles and Prudencio Rodriguez, who instilled in him the values of faith, hard work, and community service that guided his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Teodora (Dora) Rodriguez, and by his parents, Maria de Los Angeles and Prudencio Rodriguez. Together, Ruben and Dora built a beautiful family grounded in faith, love, and unity.
Ruben is survived by his loving children:
Dora Elsa (Leopoldo Garza III), Diana (Antonio Barrios Jr.), Mirtha Farley Glenn Farley), Ruben G. Rodriguez (Edith), and Marissa (Federico Munguia Jr.)
He was blessed with 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, all of whom were the joy of his life.
Ruben was a proud member of the Martin High School Class of 1955 and carried that Tiger pride with him throughout his life. He worked for Sears, Roebuck and Company for 35 years, where he served as a dedicated Department Manager in Hardware and Sporting Goods. During his years there, he mentored numerous employees and was fondly known as "the best boss" by many who had the privilege of working with him.
Ruben and Dora worked tirelessly and selflessly to help build Holy Family, a Mission of Guadalupe Catholic Church, into what is now Holy Family Catholic Church. During those years, they organized numerous fundraisers to raise funds for the church. The couple was also wholeheartedly devoted to the Cursillo movement, spending countless hours volunteering and cooking for numerous retreats.
Ruben was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, where his faith and sense of service continued to shine brightly.
He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his kind heart, and the immense pride he took in his family. His legacy will live on through those he guided, loved, and inspired every day.
