Ruben Torres was born in Edinburg, Texas to Carmen and Maria Torres, on April 29, 1965. He went to school in Odessa, Texas. He was a very hard worker as a heavy equipment operator for many years. He had a very fond interest in lowrider cars; he was the founder of Luxurious Linx C.C of Odessa, Texas. He was a very proud fan of the Dallas cowboys. He enjoyed camping, fishing and barbecuing. He was a Christian, a firm believer of Jesus Christ and throughout his life he was involved in many churches as a member, youth pastor and usher. Ruben is preceded in death by his father, Carmen "Antonio" Torres and his sister Maria Guadalupe "Lupe" Hill. Ruben is survived by his daughter's Monica Torres Vela and husband Victor; Kimberly Martinez and husband" Richard, Faith Torres; and son's !an Cruz and Ruben Torres, Jr., brother's Michael Torres, Antonio "Tony" Torres, and Christopher Hill; & his mother Maria "Hela" Torres. He had two granddaughters - lzabella Vela and Mercedes Chavez, and five grandsons Justice Vela, Ruben Chavez, Daniel Vela, Manuel Chavez and Ginobili Vela; and his fiancne Sharon Rengiil, Elijah Martinez and numerous nieces, nephews,aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Michael Torres, Antonio Torres, Christopher Hill, Victor Vela, Richard Martinez,lan Cruz, Marcus Trevino and Edward Ngirachelsau.
ln Iieu of flowers the family request that donations be made towards his funeral expenses at Martinez Funeral Home. , The family of Ruben wishes to extend sincere thanks for all the prayers, encouraging words and condolences, to the Pastors, and to everyone who has donated food, money, etc.
