Ruby Beaty

Ruby Nell Baker Beaty, 89, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023. She was born in Chester County, SC, daughter of the late Ansel Ray Baker and Sadie Mae Law Baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Clark Beaty, Sr; her daughter, Lisa Shaffer; and her grandsons, Daniel Beaty and John McEachron.
Mrs. Beaty was the loving matriarch of the Beaty family, well-respected by all. She is described by her family as an "angel" and the "best mom in the world." She was a mother figure to many whom she cared for during her life, and they, in turn, cared for her when she needed it.
She is survived by her children, Tonya Beaty (Mike), Bridget Beaty (Joe), and Thomas Beaty (Nita); her grandchildren, Dwayne Helms, Jessica Oliver, Steven Shaffer, Donny Rhames, Nikki Rhames, Amanda Armes, Matt Beaty, and Desera Rhames; twenty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; her brother, John Baker; her brother-in-law, Jim Beaty; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will greet guests from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Beaty will be held at 1:00 pm in Woodlawn Chapel, immediately following visitation. Burial will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Belmont.
