Emmitt Hungate Obituary
He was born on April 19, 1932 in Raleigh County West Virginia, Emmitt was the son of Emmitt and Ama Hungate. He proudly served in the United States Army serving in the Korean War and was a West Virginia coal miner for 35 years. He enjoyed collecting antiques and before his declining health, he enjoyed serving as deacon at Second Baptist Church of Mount Holly. He played the Harmonica making up tunes to the enjoyment of his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Stephen Hungate & Patricia, Cheri Morgan & Rick, and Greg Hungate & Tina. Grandchildren, Andy Hungate & Tabatha, Joey Hungate & Michelle, Justin Morgan & Julie, Stepanie Lynch & Liam, Brandon Morgan, Ava Hungate, and Max Hungate. Great-Grandchildren, Lily, Taylor, Alice, Caroline, Abby, Adele, Marley, Jace and Irie. Also survived by a special sister-in-law, Barbara Shiflett and brother-in-law, Lester Ashby.
He was preceded in death by spouse, Marietta, his parents, Emmitt & Ama, and his siblings, Tessie, Dexter, Ronnie and Patti.
The family will hold a private graveside service.

Sad to learn of Emmit's passing. He was a wonderful man, and a friend to me. Fond memories of him, and with him, at Second Baptist. I recall him picking ushers, pointing his finger at you, for services, of which I gladly helped. I will miss him greatly.

Fly high old friend!! I'll truly miss our long talks about life and everything in between.. So heartbroken to hear of your passing but it brings comfort to know you're happy and healthy and where you've worked your whole life to be... You were one of my dearest friends and no words can describe eminence void of losing a friend like you!! Rest in peace dear friend!!
